Hi! My name is Delilah because I am simply delightful! This has been my name since I was a puppy so I know it and respond to it well. I’m happy-go-lucky, carefree, engaging, adaptive, and cheerful regularly. When I get excited I am a firecracker, frisky, zealous, lively, and high-spirited! What thrills me most in life is sharing my love with those around me! Whether you’re big, small, old, or young, as long as you are human I want to get to know you! In my previous life, I was not socialized with other pets so I will need to go to a home where I am the only pet. This means I CANNOT live with any other pets, NO EXCEPTIONS. I will need to be the ONLY pet in the home. I do NOT do well with other dogs, cats, small animals, chickens, etc. You have to be happy with just me but I can promise you I can give enough love to fill the entire home! Most Frenchies really only know how to read and understand other Frenchies I can come off quite crazy to other dogs and my pray drive is also really high. This means I am NOT a candidate for play dates, daycare, dog beach, dog parks, and the like. I am strictly a people pup. This also means I cannot be an ESA pet as I am not well-mannered if I see any other type of animal. Having said all that, I am a super fantastical people pup, the life of the party, a lover of everyone hooman! I have received basic training so I am potty-trained, and crate-trained. I have travel manners and I know sit, stay, wait, come, off, & down. My foster parents have been working with me to learn better manners on a harness and leash because my excitement to meet all the new people and the strength in my little body can carry me away a bit. I still need some help with my introduction manners, working on calm, and not pulling on my leash so I would do well with some additional positive reinforcement training. If you want me to learn fast, the rewards of treats, toys, and playing fetch with you will be the best ever! Sometimes in some environments, I may have some allergies so I am on daily meds right now. You will want to take me to my new doctor to see if that is still needed where you live. And of course, I will need my annual dentals and routine shots but otherwise, I am as healthy as an Ox. For reasons that were not too clear, my previous family was desperately trying to get me into a rescue before the end of the month. While the rescue that took me in does not usually take in surrenders, they realized the urgency, let me in, and boy am I so glad they did! While it has been great here and I have received the best care, I really want to find my person to bond with. Without one I am a bit empty inside, mildly depressed, bored, and lonely since I can’t play with all the other dogs. If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below and you will be contacted by one of our adoption counselors!
