Hi there! My name is Snow Bella! Though I am in foster care right now, I am looking for a new foster or a furever home to help me branch out away from my pups. (send an email to info@smallbreedrescue.org if you are interested in fostering me) I’m a bit shy and quiet (unless you’re another animal trying to mess with my goat friends or my puppies—then I’ll bark and chase you away!). I’m sweet, calm, gentle, and quiet. My foster family has goats, and I’ve taken it upon myself to keep uninvited dogs and coyotes away from them. I recently started meeting the dogs in my foster family, and once I realized they weren’t bothering my goat friends, I was okay with them. I’ve only met the big guy so far, and he’s fine with me. I haven’t tried to play with him yet because I’m still unsure how to play, but he isn’t pushy. I’m learning to love getting affection from my family, especially belly and ear rubs! I’m shy and a bit nervous with new surroundings, people, and dogs, but if I’m with my people, I know I am safe. I also do well in the car, making me a great companion for trips and outings. I just got my first toy recently and didn’t know what to do with it, but when my puppies showed me how to play, I realized I like chew toys. I love to zoom around my puppies and wrestle gently with them. I’m not a fan of sweet or bland dog treats, but I love the meaty ones. I am very gentle and have never shown a single sign of aggression to my people, even when I was really scared. I don’t mind being alone, but I do not like being locked inside and accidentally scratched up the doors when my foster family was getting to know me. I like to take my time approaching new situations. While I am a bit shy with new faces and places, I warm up as I become more familiar with my environment. My foster family has been working with me to learn stay, come, and loose leash walking. I do not like the crate my foster family has for me and prefer being outside where I can keep an eye on everything. Even though I prefer being outside, I really enjoy being in the house when my foster family is home. I’ve never had a single potty accident inside and know to ask to go out. I have great manners and know I can learn tricks if you’d like. My foster mom says I do well on a leash/harness for not wearing one before and I will follow close behind you because I know you will be the leader. Exercise keeps me happy and content. I do not like being confined (except I am good with the car). My foster family has a few acres that I get to patrol, and I really thrive in a large space where I can run around freely. I was found living under a shed on a very large, secluded property with my puppies and I am used to having a lot of space. If you think we may be a good match, or you would like to get to know me better, please click the Adoption Application button below, and you will be contacted by one of our adoption counselors! Please note - Due to home introductions that are part of the adoption process, we can only accept applications for interested parties who are in or near North County San Diego County, California, at this time.
